The wild burros at Donkey Dreams Sanctuary have known uncertainty — rounded up, separated, moved into an unfamiliar world. Here, they have found safety, family, and the freedom to simply be who they are.

That takes daily care — for the rest of their lives, which could be up to 50 years. Food, veterinary support, specialized needs — even a prosthetic leg for a little burro named Gabriel who chose joy anyway. As a GFAS-accredited sanctuary run entirely by volunteers, your gift goes where it matters most — directly to the animals in our care

Why it’s important to keep wild donkey families together.

You help provide a forever home to seniors and special needs individuals: It is our core mission is to save families, but compassion led us to make exceptions and rescue a few dozen senior and special-needs donkeys. Because old or disabled animals are often cruelly discarded or killed, we simply refused to let that happen. Instead, we chose to bring them into our home and our hearts.

Our sanctuary fully operates as a labor of love. That means 100% of donations go directly to the donkeys.
